Danie Visser Joins Indian Wells Tennis Garden as Teaching Professional Emeritus

The Indian Wells Tennis Garden is excited to announce that former doubles World No. 1 and multiple-time Grand Slam doubles champion Danie Visser has joined the staff as a Teaching Professional Emeritus.

A former professional player from Rustenburg, South Africa; Visser turned pro in 1982 and amassed a remarkable resumé of on-court accolades throughout his 15 years on Tour. A doubles specialist, he won 17 titles throughout his career highlighted by three Grand Slam doubles titles (1990 US Open, 1990 Australian Open and 1993 Australian Open). In January 1990, Visser achieved the ranking of World No. 1 and solidified himself as one of the best doubles players in the history of the sport.

While many years removed from his playing days, Visser has remained heavily involved in tennis through coaching professionally on Tour as well as hosting tennis-focused vacation tours of his native South Africa. Now, he will continue his coaching role in the sport as he joins the Indian Wells Tennis Garden staff as a Teaching Professional Emeritus.

Having reached tennis’ most elite level as a former World No. 1 and Grand Slam champion, Visser’s resumé includes achievements that very few players throughout history have accomplished. His immense success on Tour as well as prior professional coaching experience will benefit Visser in providing world-class teaching instruction to Indian Wells Tennis Garden members and guests.
